About The Alliance

Neoliberals have gotten us to this point. Republicans control every aspect of our government because the Democrats we elected didn't deliver on their policies. Some are a wolf in sheep's clothing, basically being Republicans with a 'D' next to their name. Real progressives who agree with the majority of the country and can actually excite people were snubbed by the Democratic Party because they disagreed with the views of the corporate donors and wanted to take a hammer to the warmongering corporatist society they made. That got us to the point we're in, in 2017, where the little achievements we've made in healthcare are getting ready to be destroyed. Where the very little progress we've made in re-regulating the big banks to avoid another financial meltdown that'll tank our economy akin to what happened in 2008 is about to be uprooted. Where the little progress we made in regulating our environment so that the previous generation can hand us something has already been dismantled. This is because Corporate Democrats decided that their donors were more important than their constituents.

We are not only here to stand up against the right-that's only half the battle. We're here to stand up to the corporate left, who, for decades now, tried to claim being the party for the workers while allowing major corporations to pay their employees a starving wage and preventing them from forming Labor Unions. The same party who had a majority of Congress and the White House and didn't implement progressive ideals such as a single-payer system for healthcare or college funded by tax dollars so the next generation won't have crippling debt on them the moment they're put into the real world. The same party that allowed corporations to store their profits in overseas tax havens so they wouldn't have to pay taxes like everyone else. The same party that got elected by us, sells us out, loses, blames us, and then decides to move to the right to get voters who will never vote democrat while losing voters to the left that they got the last election. This is madness, and is why we need a political revolution.

Senator Bernie Sanders talked about a political revolution during his 2016 campaign for President. He knew that change needed to happen, but change can't just come from the executive branch. We need a grassroots movement that starts from the people on up to regain control of local government, then move up. Senator Sanders knew this. That's why he sparked a flame in us that is much more powerful than one top office. He started a revolution more powerful than the presidency. He got progressives to run for office, for groups like Brand New Congress and Justice Democrats to nominate and support these candidates. Bernie Sanders did his job. Now it's time for us to do ours.

In a revolution of any sort, the momentum must continue in all aspects to be successful, including the youth. We must stand up, as the heirs of this great nation, and stand with our progressive brothers and sisters in telling the establishment that enough is enough. It's long overdue for the people to stand up and let our voices be heard.
